Yaesu FT-897 Half Bracket
thingiverse
I needed a custom bracket for my Yaesu FT-897 to fit inside a go box I'm designing for portable Amateur satellite operation. Since the original bracket was too large for my Maker Select Plus, I adapted my existing design for the FT-857 (which will also be housed in the box) and modified it to suit the FT-897 requirements. Cutting the bracket in half yielded two identical sides, allowing me to potentially print a pair of brackets that would fit perfectly around the radio. The bracket is specifically designed to mount with its "L" part on the bottom of the radio, ensuring proper alignment of the holes. Attempting to use it from the top, which might be more common in mobile setups, would result in misaligned holes.
