Yaesu FT-8800/FT-8900 Head Bracket
thingiverse
This is a preliminary version of the bracket, a fully functional prototype. Given my Autodesk skills are somewhat outdated, if anyone feels they have sufficient expertise to improve this and make it elegant, please ask me and I will provide the files. THE V5 FILES ARE CURRENT AND HAVE CORRECTED DIMENSIONS -------------------------------------------------------- - The "Fancy" version has some nice chamfers and contours that allow smooth and seamless transitions to the radio head. However, it is more challenging to print and achieve decent results without post-processing. - The "Basic" version is straightforward. It features sharp angles, easy printing, and a file size that's half of the "Fancy" version. ENVIRONMENT ------------------------ - If you plan on using this in a vehicle or go-kit, it's recommended to use ABS, PETG, or another thermally resilient material. PLA will not work; I've tried it myself. This bracket won't fit the 7800/7900 series of radios. I made that mistake initially by flipping the design. The 7800 series uses clips on the sides rather than the top and bottom. I recently discovered that this bracket also fits the FT-8800, so the title has been adjusted accordingly.
