Yaesu FT-3DR non slip docking base plate

The Yaesu FT-3DR comes without a docking station, which you'll need to purchase separately. When you get it, the base is stamped with four metal feet that are supposed to keep it stable on your desk, but they don't work very well. Instead of being flat like other bases, these feet make the radio slide all over and have fallen off my desk several times. To solve this problem, I created a flat base plate that you can attach to the docking station using Dycem non-slip material, which sticks firmly without slipping or sliding around. The hole in the middle of the base plate stays open so you can still access the dock if needed. To attach the Dycem material and the base plate to the dock, I use 3M transfer tape, but you can also use contact cement or other adhesives. Just be sure to clean the bottom regularly with a damp rag or some window cleaner to keep it from losing its non-stick properties.
