Yacimiento icnitas río Cabra
sketchfab
The fossil site is preserved in a nearly flat stratum formed from the hardening of sediment deposited on the edge of a coastal lake where dinosaurs roamed. The surface cleaning of the site has allowed for the discovery of more than fifty dinosaur tracks distributed in various orientations. These tracks represent sauropods with foot and hand prints, some of which are quite large. Sauropods were quadrupedal dinosaurs with long necks and tails, often of great size like those preserved at the Río Cabra site. The sediment where they walked had a lot of water, so these huge dinosaurs deformed it greatly. This has been preserved in the site, making it possible to see perfectly the mud ejected when they stepped on them and their heavily distorted footprints. The site also preserves the tracks of a bipedal dinosaur that could be from a large carnivore.
