GrabCad / Saare yacht vent contest I went with a Lean approach. First I reverse engineered the current state, found the problems. Then I retrofitted a couple of pieces to resolve them. This new design has a large thread groove to handle salt build up and also only takes a half turn to fully open and close with ease.
