Hi! This yacht model I designed was made with CNC turning & 3-axis economical milling in mind, keeping affordability in check for low quantities. The quality is top-notch, as the top and bottom baskets use the same wood batch used on the rest of the boat. Design efficiency also comes into play here - the two baskets share a common design to minimize setup costs. Machine tools are versatile, too, as the same jig can machine both tops and bottoms with ease. With its control system lacking springs yet sporting a wiper at the top and a seal at the bottom, sufficient friction is achieved for the sleeve's placeholding job. At just 22.5mm high, this low-profile design reduces clutter without sacrificing strength: sturdy enough to support footsteps - even a considerable person! Its functionality stands up to existing models within a mere 5% difference in flow rate. Key materials used are wood (hewn from solid), nickel-plated aluminum for the switch, connector blocks, and crank machined from solid too), stainless (serving duty with its 5mm pins and screws), bronze sleeve easily fashioned from hollow bar stock). Even first-timers will appreciate this build's easy assembly - requiring eight screws atop and another eight at the bottom - as well as quick maintenance.
