Y Stepper motor Cooler Ender 3 V2
thingiverse
Redesigned from as the insulation from my print bed hits the housing, knocks it loose and adds resistance to the Y axis motor when the insulation runs over the top. Trimmed down to fit under the insulation whilst still allowing airflow over and to the side of the stepper motor. Bolt holes line up with the internal screws on the factory 42mm by 34mm stepper motors. I have used my old hotend fan which was a 4010 fan though as stated on the original thing, a 4020 is also a good choice. Will be looking to add cooling veins through the mounting flange in the future to allow some airflow to pass the face. **Edit - after giving this a test run, the Y stepper motor is dead cold to the touch, it appears it doesn't even need cooling veins to efficiently cool the motor. Might revisit in the future and lower the shroud to speed up airflow along the top though as is it is a great cooling addition to the Ender 3 v2
