Y Pod

Y Pod

This is my rendition of a replacement Y Pod container. UPDATE: I ran a test print. There is one design flaw...which will need to be addressed. The y pods and the Gardyn Covers have wings that fit inside the Y Pod to index it. These wings don't fit in my first iteration. I believe this is due to the fact I increased the wall thickness internally. I will need to add small channels on the four points so that the cubes and covers fit. Otherwise a good fit into the tower and the covers and cubes top flange fits snuggly.UPDATE: I made a tweak to the STL file to accommodate. The new file accepts the Gardyn Cap and Y cubes perfectly. The tweak caused little gaps in the pod wall near the rim...but I believe this is well above the waterline in the cup and contained within the tower...so, it shouldn't be an issue. Just a bit disappointed that it didn't come out patent. Couple of new photos added. The black filament is the new STL file. And have a combined test going with a seed germinated in a 3d printed Y cube and now growing in a 3d printed Y pod.Very long print. In stead of making with supports...it might be better to cut the top flange off and print separately from the main cup and glue them together post print. Otherwise supports eat a lot of filament. If you need a replacement Y Pod for your Gardyn...and are a 3d printing enthusiast. Feel free to try this file for non-commercial purposes. I am a novice 3d designer...and just want to promote sharing amongst the community. Thanks for your interest.
