When I needed more tension on my belts, I discovered that the standard Y-Motor mount is woefully inadequate to maintain its position. It twists and causes the driver gear to lose perfect alignment. Thankfully, I stumbled upon some old bearings with a 5mm inner diameter that fit perfectly, and I designed a mirror for the standard mount to secure the motor driveshaft end on the bearing. This allowed me to install the belt without any issues, even when extending it to its maximum length. The design calls for a 16x5x5 bearing, and the lower screw is replaced with a 15mm one to connect seamlessly with the original mount. If you're curious about the pulley gear design I used in conjunction with this modification, I've linked to it here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:740311. I'd love for you to improve or enhance my design if you have any suggestions! Please don't hesitate to make any updates or upgrades – they're welcome additions! Here are some essential steps to ensure a smooth installation: * Use a wood piece or another soft material to firmly press the bearing into place. * Swap out the original screw (mine was only 8mm) with a longer one that's not too extensive; a 15mm screw will fit perfectly in its place. * Employ some nuts and spacers to secure both components (the original and the newly attached bearing assembly) as parallel as possible.
