Y-Carriage Plate Upgrade for Anet A8
cults3d
I upgraded the Prusa i3 Aluminium Heated Bed Support (Y carriage Plate) for 3 Bearings on my Anet A8 by redesigning the Y-belt attachment found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:587659, and using the spacer from SCS8UU at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1698328. You'll also need three M3 nuts, three M3 bolts, and twelve M4 bolts that are at least twenty mm long; I used 25 mm ones. Note: after this upgrade, the bed support will be ten mm higher, which means the printing volume height will be ten mm lower. Make sure you can raise or lower the Z end stop for about ten mm depending on its position. I have an upgraded Z Endstop and had to redesign it to make it ten mm longer; check one of the images in the list of things. I purchased the Y carriage Plate at http://tehnologika.net/Prusa-i3-Aluminium-Y-carriage-Plate-6mm-Reprap/, which is very strong and has solved my problem with bending.
