Y belt tensioner for FLSUN cube
thingiverse
Newly modified to reduce height by 5mm for improved performance. Not yet printed or tested, but promising results are expected. The existing mounts for the Y belts lack adjustability and are about 12mm lower than where the belts come off the toothed pulleys - this discrepancy will wreak havoc with belt tension. A simple Pythagorean calculation reveals a belt length variation of nearly 2mm between carriage at the center of Y and carriage at the Y limit, causing significant issues. This modification addresses both problems. Each belt requires one Ysupport and one Ytensioner, which fit on top of the two X rod mounts and are secured using an M3 bolt through the mount's clamping hole. The tensioner should have an additional support on the other side of the rod holder to prevent twisting - if used, an M3x30 bolt is recommended instead of the standard M3x25. The Ysupport has a cutout on one side to fit snugly against the X motor.
