Y-Belt Retainer/tensioner
thingiverse
This design features a low-profile Y-axis belt holder for Prusa Mendel. It prevents belt bending while ensuring smooth operation. Print both the base and slider parts, available in T5 or T2.5 versions. The slider should slide freely within the base, which can be sanded to fit if necessary. To assemble, pass a 20mm M3 bolt through the base's hole, screw on a nut, adjust its length, and secure it in the nut trap. Attach the base to the lower plate's end, insert the belt, and lay it within the slider with the dimple facing the bolt. Push the slider back into the base and fasten the other belt end using standard components, tightening the belt around the idler and drive gear. Photos demonstrate the assembly process (excluding final bolting). Additional tension can be achieved by tightening the bolt, preferably with a hex head for better off-center adjustment.
