Y Axis Tensioner Idler (CTC, Geetech, Pro B)
thingiverse
Details This front panel Y tensioner replaces the one found in GEETech and CTC Ebay Kit Printers. The default one that comes with these printers has an infill of about 5-10% and mine snapped after a few hours, so I hacked together a temporary Y axis idler / tensioner to get my printer printing again. I designed a new part in Autodesk 123d and it now works perfectly, upgraded with slightly thicker walls. Print this part with extra infill - ideally 100% for ultimate strength, but 50% will work fine. I've added a photo of my printer so you can see the type that this part goes with; it may fit yours too. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any parts that matched my kit (Ebay). Update: I've split the top half of this into a separate piece and added alignment pins to print in two halves. Assemble the Y idle gears inside the piece and then super glue it together. This is more like how the in-box piece from the kit works when assembled at the factory. If your printer can't print exactly or very close to exact measurements, you may need to file down a bit here and there to get it working nicely.
