Y Axis Stepper Motor Support Brace
thingiverse
After assembling this, you will want to mount it to your y-axis stepper. To accomplish that, you will need: * 1 x 12mm M5 screw * 1 x M5 T Nut * 2 x 45mm M3 screws I purchased all of the above from Amazon. This design can also be used with a motor damper, which was my reason for designing it. Begin by mounting the brace to the damper or directly to the motor. Remove two of the M3 screws from the back of the stepper. These are too short, so we need 45mm M3 screws. After attaching them to the motor, lift up your printer or put it on its side and attach the M5 screw and T Nut. When installing this, you will want to move your y-axis limit switch forward a bit by unscrewing the screw that holds it to the extrusion and sliding it forward. If using the damper, it is preferred to add one to the front and rear of the motor and use this brace to straighten the motor from the belt tension.
