After some time, my Y-axis rods started slipping out of the clips on my MP3DP and ruining my prints. A straightforward solution was to add a cap to the Y-clip on both ends of the rods to prevent them from sliding out. I replaced all four Y-clips with these caps and haven't experienced any issues since.
