Y-Axis Low Profile Belt Holder

Y-Axis Low Profile Belt Holder

thingiverse

I was looking for a sleek y-axis belt holder that wouldn't get in the way of my printer's functionality. Unfortunately, my experience with Prusa parts hasn't been stellar - I've had a tough time getting the belt slot to align properly and the part is just too tall. To create a low-profile solution, I designed this piece to utilize the belt itself for tensioning. By folding back on itself, the teeth interlock securely in place, keeping everything tight. This design also allows me to mount my bed lower to the carriage, giving me more space to work with. For my specific build, I used Uxcel brass threaded M3 inserts and M3x4mm screws to attach it to my Gulf Coast Robotics 220x220mm carriage (available on Amazon). The mounting holes are precisely 40mm apart, so this holder won't fit the standard Prusa 200x200mm carriage.
