Y axis leadscrew mod
thingiverse
You should have plenty of time available for this modification, as adjusting it correctly will likely take a considerable amount of time. You might also end up with lower print quality, but if you get it just right, you'll achieve the most accurate nozzle tip positions due to zero belt stretch and increased mechanical resolution. My y-axis leadscrew mod is currently running on my printer. The bearing holder is quite long because I only had a 300mm screw available. I've added files for Fusion 360, feel free to modify them as needed. This mod uses an 8 mm leadscrew. Instead of using the holder, I drilled holes in the backplate initially, but that seemed like a big commitment before trying out the leadscrew. If you're using 1/16 microstep (the default on my printer), change the steps/mm to 400. If you switch to 1/4 microstep by removing two jumpers under the driver, set it to 100 steps/mm.
