Y Axis Belt Tensioner for Tevo Tarantula
thingiverse
The original design was crafted by Damir Hajdarevic "Banholm". I remixed this with the intent of utilizing it in conjunction with my Dual Y Axis Rail Support + 4.5mm created by Sensei_Polka_Dot. This Remix also features a Raised Y Motor Pad for the rear Y Motor to match the height of the front one. I desired to secure it to the wood base I use to mount my Tevo Tarantula, so I added an extra Bottom Plate using the 4.5mm height of the Dual Rail Support. I then modified the Right & Left Brackets to be 4.5mm higher and squared off the Backplate to match. At the front of the Bottom Plate, you would use two M4x15's instead of two M4x10's. I designed the Bottom Plate separately because if anything went wrong with my 3D printer, I could easily remove the belt tensioner from the Bottom Plate mount. I moved the Turnwheel hole down a bit and modified the Backplate for holes that went all the way through because the other method was not working as PLA stripped out very quickly. I don't want to have to remake that one part every time they strip out, so I created a more permanent solution to that problem. I also centered the holes on the Backplate. I also modified the Tensioner module to accept a nut to be able to tighten the bolt securing the bolt to the Tensioner Module as I found that it rotated when adjusting the tension. This is made specifically for the TEVO TARANTULA but can be fitted to any 2040 aluminum extrusion. Like Banholm, I'd love to receive some feedback so please comment if you have time!
