Y axis belt tensioner
thingiverse
My Y-axis belt was extremely loose and difficult to tension, so I decided to modify the original bearing holder. I wanted to design it in such a way that I could hold the bearing and adjust the belt easily. I used Autocad to design this new holding device, and my wife - an architect herself - is patiently teaching me how to use it. This modification is working perfectly for me now. Currently, I am printing some parts with customized settings. **Print Settings** - Printer Brand: RepRap - Printer: i3 DIY - Rafts: Yes - Supports: No - Infill Percentage: 25% How I Designed This Modification This image shows the original design with a red box, which had a mistake (indicated by blue arrows). Fortunately, these issues can be easily fixed. Custom Section Here is an image of the original bearing holder. And here's how it looks assembled.
