Y axis / bed cable chain anchors for Lulzbot TAZ
thingiverse
Anchors to secure my printable cable chain to the bed and vertical strut on my Lulzbot TAZ. I need one M5 bolt, a T-slot Nut (drop-in nuts work well here) and a zip tie. There are two versions of the anchor for the strut because printing this shape in one piece makes no sense, but I've provided the complete part to show how the 'nub' should be glued to the main part (PostAnchor_Nubless). This is partly a remix of thing:1145951, which I modified for two reasons: I wanted it to connect directly to my cable chain and I didn't want to use so many non-printed parts (the original required heat inserts and 7 bolts). Printer Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 1 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Instructions Additional parts: one M5 bolt one drop-in t-slot nut (I used this) about 15 compatible cable chain links I must disconnect both cables on the Rambo end and remove them from their sheath. These cables need to be threaded through the entire cable chain and anchor assembly. I found it easiest to slide the links/anchors onto the wires in short sections rather than trying to push the wires through the entire chain at once. Make sure to connect the anchors to the chain before threading the wires through, and that the chain is oriented to bend the correct way (in relation to the anchors). On the bed plate side, the anchor simply snaps onto the existing slot normally used to tie down the cable, leaving a small gap for a small zip tie in the middle of the anchor. On the other end, I'll use the t-slot nut and bolt to attach it to the most convenient post, making sure that its height is even with the bed anchor and that the cable chain comes off the post heading backwards (+y direction). Once the entire chain is anchored, I will feed the end of the wire back into the controller box and reconnect the wires.
