Y.A.E.F.S.T. (Yet Another Extendable Filament Spool Tray,Vase Mode Printable, With Pencil Case)
thingiverse
Note: It might be necessary to scale the tray by 1mm along the z-axis due to a variance in spool heights. I wanted to find a use for old empty Filament Spools. There are many similar designs on thingiverse that I know, but none of them met my needs - either they weren't vase-mode printable or required modifications to the spools. So I decided to create my own design. The spool tray works with spools provided by DasFilament.de (200mm outer width and 57mm inner width). You need to print the following: - 1 Stand - 1 Cover - 1 Spacer for each layer (none for the first one) - 1 Center piece for each layer - 2 Trays for each layer - [optional] 1 Pencil_Case, scale in height to suit your pencils and your tray Additionally, you will need two 3x20mm screws and four 4mm nuts per layer. The trays and the pencil holder must be printed in vase-mode (spiralize outer hull). Use at least six bottom layers when printing the trays for stability. # Assembly Assembly is as simple as it gets. Use the screws to secure two trays to each spool, then just stack the items on top of each other: stand -> center piece -> spool -> spacer -> center piece -> spool ... spool -> pencil case -> top
