This innovative fan shroud and several other modifications empower me to produce high-quality prints using PLA with my Da Vinci. A standard Da Vinci cannot print PLA due to excessive heat-related issues in the extruder filament barrel, causing the PLA to swell, clog the barrel, trigger clicking of the extruder, and lead to failed prints. By installing this shroud, I've managed to circulate more air around the barrel to aid in cooling it down efficiently. In addition to the shroud, I have incorporated extra heat sinks into my extruder, allowing me to print using PLA without encountering any issues whatsoever. The last photo serves as an illustration of how I effectively insulated my nozzle to prevent excessive cooling caused by an additional "PLA" fan and this modification. \nUpdated with a fresh clip design that significantly reduces the likelihood of breaking during frequent installation and removal. \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3Uojz7HGTs\n\n \n \n Assembly Guidelines\nFabricate with ABS material, employing a lighter to heat and shape the rear tabs for an optimal fit. Drilling holes may be necessary to securely fasten the fan in place. This design is still in development, yet it has proven itself quite effective so far.
