XYZE / First Layer Calibration Helper
thingiverse
The primary function of this tool is a Google Sheet that facilitates the calibration of 3D printers by calculating XYZE steps, filament diameter, and extrusion multiplier. This process involves no innovation or invention on my part; instead, I've compiled information from various links (listed below) into a spreadsheet. To aid in the calibration process, I've included test objects that you can print during this phase. You'll find Fusion 360 files attached for your convenience, allowing you to adjust parameters according to your specific needs. Feel free to use your own test files or alternative sources as long as they are based on squares or rectangles. I've also provided example configurations for the Prusa Slicer that you can modify or use as a guide. First Layer Calibration ------------------------ The first layer calibration included in my Prusa i3 MK3 has some limitations. It only works with PLA and a 0.4mm nozzle, covering a small surface of the print bed. I've created an STL file featuring a 3x3 grid of 20x20x0.2mm patches to cover a larger area of the print bed. If you're using a different nozzle or want to adjust the patch size or bed dimensions, simply edit the parameters in the attached Fusion 360 file.
