XYZ Davinci 1.0 magnetic door catch spacer block
thingiverse
The magnetic catches on my printer finally all gave way so my door wouldn't stay shut anymore. I designed this little piece with an indentation for a magnet inside and glued it onto the upper left side of my door where it fits securely to the metal frame. Now my door remains tightly closed. Instructions To keep the door sealed, place it about 1/8 inch towards the right as seen from outside (so that the plastic top front doesn't get in the way). I used a tiny drop of Loctite Gel Control Super Glue to secure the magnet and stick the piece onto the door. A 5/16-inch diameter x 5/64-inch thick rare earth magnet was used, but had to be shaved down a bit to make it fit perfectly through the hole - fortunately, its depth was just right as printed.
