XYZ da Vinci filament cartridge spool replacement
thingiverse
I designed this to be a direct replacement for the XYZ da Vinci filament spools inside their proprietary cartridges, allowing me to keep everything neat and contained within a self-contained cartridge assembly that effectively prevents intermittent self-unwinding and tangling that can occur with a simple exterior spool arrangement. I left six square cutouts identical to the stock spools intact, ensuring these replacements should be fully compatible with your own filament winding apparatus if you have one or prefer to use the drill-mounted one I designed, which I will upload next. Printing my own extra spools enables me to fill them with new filament while prints are ongoing. Additionally, I melted two of my original spools slightly by allowing the oven to get about 15C too hot while drying some filament, a costly mistake. Each spool requires approximately 110g of ABS filament when printed at 100% infill. The two halves are designed to be self-centering and must be epoxied together. I successfully epoxied three together using cheap Harbor Freight 2-part quick-curing epoxy without encountering any issues. As usual, use this design at your own risk; I am not responsible for any damages or injuries that may result from utilizing these parts.
