XYZ Da Vinci Carbon Filter Fan Housing
thingiverse
This is a top mount carbon filter and fan housing for the Da Vinci AiO 1.0. Fed up with breathing in stinky odors. Sick of hearing that roaring motorcycle engine and dealing with disastrous printing mistakes. Need very little assistance , the components are neatly disassembled to lie flat on the printer bed. Both vents were printed at once, as well as both mid sections. The fan housings will need to be done one side at a time. The mid pieces and the vents are bonded together using super glue for added strength. These slip right over the printer top housing. The top fan piece (80 mm fans) is a press fit held in place by the weight of the fans for easy access and removal when needed. In the fan housing is just a carbon filter pad purchased at the local pet store cut to size. This is my very first full design for 3D printing. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. Powering the fans is up to you. I do not accept responsibility for damages caused by anyone choosing to use this idea. Updated on November 9, 2015 to include alignment tabs for gluing and adjust mid section to better fit lid. Had some issues with print layers to no fault of design as visible in mid part. Going to epoxy fill and leave since it is not visible. I placed the hook on wrong side for wire so DON'T do what I did. This is to help keep top wire up and out of the way. Do not use zip ties or fasten. I'm using a carbon pad made by Aqua Globe. It measures 10x30 inches and can yield around eight pads. Guess it equals over one year's supply.
