I had salvaged a 40x40mm aluminum heatsink from an old ATI graphics card, determining its potential for repurposing. The heatsink boasted two snap-fit pins that I removed, which were designed to provide a loose fit through corresponding holes. The heatsink still relies on thermal paste for a stable connection; the mount prevents it from sliding due to vibrations. I'm using Arctic Silver Ceramique and have noticed a substantial decrease in running temperatures of the stepper motor. It has endured around twenty hours of printing without any significant slippage, a testament to its effectiveness.
