XYZ Da Vinci 1.0 Y axis bearing holder
pinshape
I believe my bearing holder was severely compromised during shipping, which ultimately led to its complete failure. Without it in place, the Y-axis tension on the drive shaft causes the belt to slip constantly. These brackets are located near the rear of the printer and do not require spring alignment, so I decided to leave them off. I will provide updates with images and printer settings once I achieve a successful print and fit. Update #1: I have yet to test-fit this design, but I expect to complete it tonight. V2: I re-sized the bearing dimensions to account for offset and thickened the bearing wall to make it stronger. I also added a model without pins, which makes printing easier since they are not essential. Update #2 V3: I re-sized the screw hole diameters according to new specifications. Instructions: This STL file is in mm and measures approximately 28 mm at its widest point. Rostock Max 1.0 printer ColorFabb's BronzeFill material @ .1mm Z resolution @ 235C E3D v6 Hotend temperature @ Extremely slow print speed of 30mm/s on the external perimeter @ 100% fill density @ Supports are only necessary if you want to include pins Wow! Installing this part was a real challenge, taking an exhausting 45 minutes to complete. Finally, the printer is up and running again. Pre-tap the screw holes with existing screws before installation. I recommend printing with pins initially, but if you encounter difficulties lining it up with the holes, simply clip one pin off, insert the remaining pin, rotate the part into position, and then screw it in place. In hindsight, I should have designed this part after consulting the original. There is significantly more force involved than I had anticipated. If it breaks again, I will create a much more robust part. Until then, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that this design holds up under stress. I also advise against using BronzeFill for this project; instead, opt for ABS or PLA with a bit more flexibility.
