XYZ Da Vinci 1.0 Three fan extruder carriage.
thingiverse
I am designing a new extruder for my Da Vinci 1.0, drawing inspiration from the Buda design optimized for 1.75mm filament, with a few key modifications to suit my specific needs. The front two fans blast air directly into the heat-sink, while the third fan works as an extractor, evacuating hot air from the chamber and channeling it through an internal duct within the carriage straight into the printing area. This design is specifically tailored for use with 15mm linear bearings. To further optimize airflow, I have introduced three transparent side covers between the fans, ensuring maximum efficiency of the system. My direct drive design borrows elements from jsirgado's Thingiverse creation (thing:783288), which I updated on May 4th at 8:50 pm. In addition to incorporating a revised band grip for ease of assembly and enhanced heat-sink performance to maximize cooling, my changes have brought the following enhancements: On May 7th at 3:10 pm, further improvements were implemented to fine-tune design presentation and overall performance. A border was added to prevent accidental X-axis sensor disruption Resizing modifications within the carriage helped resolve snagging issues Printer brand information is now prominently displayed for a more polished finish Airflow has been recalibrated with an eye towards side cover improvements.
