Create an eye-catching display for your 3D printed collection by utilizing your trusty 3D printer. Arrange these box shelves as a home display case or even showcase them in your 3D printing shopfront. With simple "XYZ Connect" parts, connect 6mm (1/4 inch) thick plywood pieces to create your own shelving system. If you're interested in the 3D printed sculptures featured, visit the XYZ Workshop on Shapeways at http://www.shapeways.com/shops/xyzworkshop. To build this unique shelving system, gather your materials: a drill with philips head attachment, 4g 12mm (1/2 inch) cabinet screws (black preferred), and pre-cut plywood sheets from your hardware store. We used 1200x450x6mm sheets and had them cut to size at Masters, a store that offers free timber cutting. For printing, each box requires 8 XYZ Connect pieces to fix the corners. Print at least 1.2mm shell thickness and 60% infill for optimal strength. For wider boxes, additional pieces may be necessary for added rigidity. Use the holes in the XYZ Connect pieces as guides for drilling screws into the plywood sheets, pre-drilling for easier fixing. The cover photos showcase various box dimensions: 740x450x450mm, 595x280x450mm, 450x450x450mm, and 450x280x450mm. Unleash your creativity and create a stunning display with this versatile shelving system!
