XYZ Calibration Object
thingiverse
This is a refined version of a calibration print I used at my previous workplace. It takes a bit longer to print than standard 20mm cubes, but enables more precise measurements. The base cross serves for measuring the X and Y axis - there's a small arrow indicating the front of the model and also the Y axis. The notches in the base arms allow for accurate measurements. With the cube, it's possible that you're not measuring exactly perpendicular to the sides. With this model, the notches ensure you're always measuring the length accurately. From notch to notch is 100mm. If your measurement is off, you'll need to adjust your steps on that axis in your printer's firmware. The Z-axis is measured from base to top, diagonally across the square. This should also be 100mm.
