XY(Z)Arm

XY(Z)Arm

thingiverse

This tutorial outlines a new approach to pan/tilt movement using the "Z-mover," which allows objects to move inside back and forth. This feature is particularly useful for pens or paddles in rowing boat models. A video demonstration can be found at http://youtu.be/UlFfeajCWjs. The necessary software can be downloaded from http://www.askrprojects.net/additional/xyzarm.zip and requires an Arduino or Chipkit-Max32, along with Processing for PC control and the G4P library. The provided fixture is an example and users must create their own custom fixtures, attaching them to the servos with sewing cotton and super glue. The Bill of Materials includes a printed XYArm part (optional Z-mover), missing fixture, two 8mm servos, four small metal screws, two rubber bands, four drops of superglue, and two 5mm screws for mounting.
