XY-Tensioner/Wood Stabilizer Plate
thingiverse
This top-plate reinforces the X axis stepper on TOM, preventing wood warping and cracking around the T-Slot. It provides sturdiness and includes an integrated tensioner for adjusting belt tension without disassembly. The design uses countersunk M3 bolts for increased strength while maintaining height. I also applied this plate to the Y axis. A similar design is available on Thingiverse. When printing, use 90% infill for stability. Slide an M4 nut into the tensioner slot and replace existing M3 bolts with countersunk ones. Ensure not to use regular head bolts as they may interfere with carriage movement. Drill a hole for the M4 Tensioner Bolt on the left side, using a washer or scrap ABS plate to protect the wood. Adjust belt tension as needed without disassembling the carriage.
