Top-plate designed for X Axis Stepper on TOM, enhances rigidity of wood components. Observe that adjustments to the X axis tension caused my wooden framework to warp and develop cracks along the channels. The most severe warping occurred around the T-Slot of the left side. This top-plate reinforcement significantly increases stability of the structure by bolstering the surrounding wood. Tensioner built into the design enables users to adjust belt tightness without completely disassembling the system. Countersunk M3 bolts, as opposed to stock versions, allow for the installation of a thicker ABS plate while maintaining equivalent height. This additional strength compensates for the minimal increase in material thickness, achieving better overall stability. Due to its merits, I installed a matching top-plate on the Y axis for maximum system balance and precision control. Following observation, there exists a nearly identical design within the thingiverse community: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11502 I used 90% infill while printing for maximum stability. The M4 nut should be positioned in the tensioner slot. Replace the original M3 bolts with countersunk ones and gently secure them to the stepper assembly. Keep in mind that if using countersunk bolts, movement of the X axis will not be perfectly synchronized. Conversely, swapping regular head bolts might result in collision between carriage and bolt heads. To fine-tune the belt tension, locate a hole adjacent to the M4 Tensioner Bolt within the left side of the plate as seen in the reference photograph. Consider placing an additional M4 washer for added wood protection, however a spare ABS piece was employed instead in this setup. Thread a single M4 bolt through this hole and firmly attach it to the existing nut. Minor adjustments to belt tightness can then be achieved without system disassembly
