XY Table Stage flexure
thingiverse
This is a straightforward method of building a mobile X-Y stage using Flexure technology. A Pololu Micro gear motor (https://www.pololu.com/product/638) and an H-bridge drive (Pololu MD08A) are used in combination. Watch the YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duJA_RuBa8Q for more details on this build. An M3 bolt is employed, complete with a nut and secured to the motor using a standard standoff. Since the motor shaft has the same diameter as the bolt (3mm), this approach is effective. In addition, an analog output Hall Effect sensor and a magnet are used to track movement. The resulting span was satisfactory (1000mV for 3.5mm travel). Note that I've deliberately left out the motor mechanism for the Y axis. Nevertheless, this method presents a minimalist solution for moving in two dimensions - X and Y planes. This stage will ultimately be integrated with a laser or mirror alignment system.
