XY Size Compensation Test
prusaprinters
Most FDM printers will make parts larger than they should be in the X and Y directions. This "XY expansion" can be undone in your slicer settings, but it is difficult to know exactly how much to offset this expansion. This is where the XY Size Compensation Test comes in handy! The XY Size Compensation Test has five pieces that can slide in and out of slots. Each slot (and its corresponding piece) has an XY size offset between 0.1 and 0.5 mm After you print the model, you can decide which offset you like best, and use that offset in printing your future models. The model dimensions are 75x20x8.7mm and it only uses about 10-15 grams of filament!Note: Make sure that when you print this model, your XY size compensation is set to 0, and you have not scaled the model to a different size. I would recommend printing the "separate" model, with brim enabled. Also, after you know which offset you like best, it is easiest to change the XY size compensation in your slicer settings (not in cad). In the Prusa Slicer, you can find the "XY Size Compensation" setting under "Print Settings", and then "Advanced".If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns, please leave a comment!
