XY Magnetic Sliding Effector (for 3D printers) - conceptual model
grabcad
Work in progress, only conceptual at this point. Drive system not yet modelled. This is an effector type I invented years ago, which is a 3D printer effector that does not use any form of linear rails but is held by magnets to a steel plate and slides over that plate in XY direction. I never modelled it until I saw the "Marionette" 3D printer design concept on YouTube, and there in one of the comments someone mentioned the same idea. This means that this now is public domain information which can no longer be patented, and that most likely this was invented not only by me but by other persons as well independently. Therefore I decided to start modelling my ideas pertaining to the sliding magnetic effector concept and publishing them, for at least this way it would be of use to mankind and also to prevent some of the particular design ideas I have from being patented by others, because now it is matter of time someone invents the rest as well.
