I aimed to craft a straightforward XY calibration piece, utilizing my compact Mitutoyo vernier caliper at full capacity, its maximum extension being roughly 134mm. I also sought to minimize filament usage for this basic component. In terms of Z height, this part would optimally allow the model to clear out dimensional inaccuracies arising from excessively small first-layer heights – the following layers tend to be slightly larger due to the built-up backpressure within the nozzle.
