After frying a Raspberry Pi with a LM26596 buck converter that went awry, I ordered a couple of these XY3606 converters that push 5volts at 5 amps to a USB port and a set of direct leads. Can take 9 to 36 volts in through a set of direct leads or from a 2.1mm barrel connector. Since I had just remixed a case for the LM I figured I would make a mew one for this "safer" converter. Lid is just a snap fit and may need some lite filing to get it to seat properly. Since this adapter does not have any mounting holes I placed a pair of risers in the base of the case and use small VHB tape strips to mount the board in place.
