XXL Spool holder (adjustable to any size up to 3kg)
thingiverse
This is a massive version of the original. I recently purchased a 3kg roll of PETG and realized that this behemoth of a roll won't fit my spool holder on my CR-10. So, I found an adjustable spool holder and decided to beef this thing up a bit. Now you can use it for the originally intended 1kg spools, but also for the gigantic 3kg spools. The only thing that is CR-10 specific is the holder base, which matches up with the CR-10 control box. I haven't printed this base part yet; the rest should work on every printer. The picture shows the holder with a 1kg spool. I printed the screw (about 17cm long) with the modified supports (already in the file). Additional parts you will need: * 4 bearings: http://amzn.to/2ofEido * And some screws (M3x16) if you'll mount the holder on top of the CR-10 control box. Print settings: Infill: 40%-100% (screw = 100%) Layer: 0.2mm Nozzle: 230 - 245°C Bed: 70-75°C Support: no (depends how you place the parts) Raft: no Used filament: * Yellow: http://amzn.to/2GrlK1n * Orange: http://amzn.to/2HqsiyP * Black: http://amzn.to/2ofqAaB Fits this mega spool 2.5kg (netto) black PETG: http://amzn.to/2obRHTU I used the following tape on my CR-10: http://amzn.to/2zXjJGu This stuff is really great; no extra glue needed, 100% sticky to the printed parts, which come off really easily, even without destroying the tape. Extra Tip: Another very hot tip is to use Kapton tape! Here you get the glossy finish and perfect adhesion like with the blue tape! Look at this: 200mm Kapton tape: http://amzn.to/2nPggqi Have fun!
