While working with these vintage models, some have a broken R2 mechanism which can be frustrating to deal with. This is the plunger that pushes the X-wings open when R2's head is pressed. The printed version I created worked exceptionally well and it's worth noting that you may need to make adjustments to fit your specific needs. I printed this model straight up with supports, which made removal a breeze.
