After damaging the controller in my X3S I bought a MKS Robin V1.0 Controller from Banggood which came with the TFT 3.5 screen and a WIFI Adapter. The screen is so much nicer than the original Xvico one and I loved the fully customisable firmware shipped with the controller and the ability to display a 3D render of the Gcode file, I wanted to use these functions and the screen. I purchased 5 x A4988 stepper drivers with the controller as this controller is not supplied with drivers. I didn't want to increase the size of the cut-out for the bigger screen so I designed an adapter that would not require any modification of the chassis. The base part takes the place of the original screen then the middle screen mount screws on to the base, the screen then screws on to this mount and finally the cover snaps on to screen mount tidying everything up. In order to use the firmware the correct stepper micro steps must be input into the firmware and this can all be found in the Configuration.H file from the original Xvico firmware downloadable from Github. There are a few other settings that must be adjusted in the Firmware like configuring the ends stops and the stepper motor directions, nothing too taxing.
