The add-on attaches two fixes to the Xtracycle Freeradical in one go: Firstly, the wooden platform isn't lengthy enough to prevent water spray from the rear wheel from hitting items being carried on the bike's rear deck. Secondly, there's no convenient spot to attach a rear light on the Xtracycle. This attachment gives space for various kinds of mounted battery and dynamo powered lights which are permanently secured to a bicycle rack.
