xt60 connector retaining clips
thingiverse
After installing my latest upgrade into my CTC Replicator Dual, I had to create a small clip to hold the HBP power cable connector in place - I dislike using cable ties, or zip ties for that matter. So, I came up with two little clips that can be either bolted or screwed in place to secure the connector and wiring from moving about. The connectors are high-amp model RC connectors, specifically "XT60" ones sourced from an eBay supplier, allowing me to easily break the connector apart if needed, rather than having it hardwired - not a good idea at all. My bot has a tendency to chew through the power and ground lines to the HBP on a monthly basis, so I decided to put this issue behind me permanently with 15-amp DC silicone-covered wire and an XT60 connector. The hex nut is designed for an M3 nut, while the countersunk hole accommodates either an M3 countersunk bolt or a small screw head. Print Settings Printer: CTC Rep Dual Sailfished Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: Print this at whatever infill you prefer. I used 100% for a solid clip in ABS (the black-colored one) and 75% for PLA (the red one), allowing for some flexibility when inserting the connector. How I Designed This I begin my design process with Tinkercad, where I create a usable model before exporting it to 123 Design (free version) to finalize the details and ensure everything looks just right.
