XP Deus 2 Remote Retainers
thingiverse
Edited October 24, 2022: STL files have been added for another style retainer. The new retainer uses a sliding latch and thumbscrew to lock the remote to the shaft. Both style retainers work very well at preventing the remote from being accidentally knocked off the shaft, but the newer version allows adjustment of the locking tension against the remote. To install, remove the two flat-head screws that hold the remote's snap-on connector. Remove the connector and slide the retainer onto the shaft. Replace the connector and screws. Slide the Deus handle back against the retainer to hold it in place. The retainer with the sliding latch requires an M3 hexnut. Using a nut with a nylon locking insert is the best choice. An M3 x 20 mm long screw is glued into the knob to create an approximately 16 mm long thumbscrew. Epoxy works best for this. A purchased thumbscrew can be substituted if desired. PLA is the best choice for the material because of its resistance to bending.
