By combining two STL files using OpenSCAD's positive difference, you can create an item with a pattern like checked, striped or spotted (including gingham for picnics) in two colors. To achieve this, first import both STL files (one prepared earlier and the other XOR) and use convexity=15 for better results. Then, create a positive difference by using import_stl() function twice. Export the STL file of the positive difference result. Next, repeat the process but with an intersection() instead of a positive difference. This will create the support (or second color) design. Finally, export this STL file. Afterward, place both STL files in a medium temperature twin 3D printer until they reach a golden brown finish.
