Xmas Tree 'Vase'
cults3d
I crafted my own unique Christmas decoration in the shape of this tree-like design. You can install a light source inside it (just ensure it's not too hot) or utilize it as a vase. Disclaimer: usage of any models from 3DParts4U is at your own risk. I printed a miniature tree with walls that are 1.2mm thick, having scaled down the original design to 37.5% of its size. I also printed a smaller tree with 0.8mm thick walls by scaling it down to 25% of its original size. My print settings in Simplify3D for those scales were: Felix PLA filament | 3600mm/minute (60mm/second) | hotend 185°C | bed 55°C | 250 micron | 0 top layers | 3 bottom layers | 2 outline layers | Fan 100% | brass nozzle 0.35mm | extrusion width 0.40mm | retraction 1.00mm | extrusion multiplier 1.00 | coasting 0.30mm | wipe distance 5.00mm You can experiment with different sizes (wall thickness). The full-scale version has a wall thickness of 3.2mm. I also included files with a wall thickness of 0.4mm, but it's probably more challenging to print, using an extrusion width of 0.40mm. I added the FreeCAD file(s), so you can modify the model. You'll need to download FreeCAD, which is free. Watch this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/NIrckVw8nxA
