A picture inspired this intriguing wooden structure, made up of 120 uniquely cut pieces (my version uses a single piece with curved design; the final GIF demonstrates its creation). Created in Solidworks 2016, it was rendered using Simlab Composer 8 Mechanical Edition. Frames were edited in Virtualdub, saved as AVI/X264 and BMP formats. The video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui, while Gifs were made in PhotoScape. Editing of renders was done using IrfanView. Both 3D-PDF and SIMLAB files are animated. This model is available in multiple formats including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 8, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, DWF, and FBX.
