This project is a result of inspiration drawn from printers such as Ultimaker, CoreCube, and Ingentis. New Zealand has a relatively small 3D community, and unfortunately, everything related to parts or printers is either pricey or overpriced (with the notable exception of Makershop). To make matters worse, importing items from overseas can be a nightmare due to NZ customs being notoriously difficult. I've uploaded new version 2 parts as I was not satisfied with the initial design. In addition to its improved block-like appearance, these updated parts are significantly tougher and more robust. Given my budget constraints and the availability of readily accessible materials, this project aims to meet one of my objectives: building a top-notch 3D printer. Behold, XMaker - my ongoing work in progress! The exterior dimensions of XMaker mirror those of the Ingentis. For its XY axis, I'll be utilizing 500mm 8mm rod, paired with direct drive stepper motors and GT2 pulleys and belts. This setup will ensure smooth operation under power.
