Xlabs Braap - Improved Canopy
thingiverse
I love the Braap design but after flying it for over a year I've made several tweaks to the original canopy to make it stronger and less prone to breaking after too many crashes. - A reinforced interior has been added with 2mm thicker front walls. - Reinforced corners have been added with small rounded bumpers at both top corners of the canopy, making it less likely to snap while carrying a high-definition camera. In some cases, the camera's strap would cut the filament since that area was too thin. - A larger strap area has been created to accommodate strong kevlar straps for the HD camera by making the holes taller and wider. - The FPV camera hole marks are probably the weakest point of the canopy. A few lines aligned to the holes have always tended to be a bit weaker, possibly due to support. The hole marks will be noticeable enough for you to drill. I recommend heating the drill bit to make perfect holes through the plastic. - A cut out has been made on the back part of the canopy to allow some extra height. - The FPV hole has been widened by only about 1mm all around. These improvements have been made to the canopy, which may also be necessary due to my printer. Who knows! If you print it, please share a picture! If you have any other recommendations, I'm all ears and eyes. Enjoy flying your Braap design!
